"Fleeting Dreams"

This guy knows how to write a sublimely succinct melody, with just the right chorus to accompany tightly effective verse, a bridge only when required. He plays within the concise format of popular song, in the 70s troubadour tradition, with substantialness, like the most familiar songs reminiscent of the time-weighted classics by fellow Canadians like Young, Mitchell, and Lightfoot. Yes, he’s that good. This, at the age of thirty, one wonders where he will take it.” - Dimitri Papatheodorou
All you can ask of a new artist is to be authentic and pour their entire being into their art. His emotionally charged voice, rich with tone and control, anchors his authenticity. ” - Greg Cici

about

“It looks like a friendly hitchhiker, but sounds like discovering old journal entries in a dimly lit attic at 2am”

Jonah McLean is a folk singer-songwriter blending vintage Laurel Canyon influences with modern indie-folk intimacy. His songs feel like pages from a weathered notebook - sketching love, heartbreak, and healing through lived experiences.

After a year of writing, performing, and releasing music across a range of styles, Jonah used his first ten releases as a process of self discovery. That experimentation has led to a new and clear artistic direction - a sound that lets raw, emotional honesty breathe.

Now entering a new chapter, Jonah is building toward his debut full length album “Fleeting Dreams,” which is set for release in September 2026 with the first single out in May. This record holds true to his evolving story - along with the quiet ache of getting older.

Influenced by Neil Young, Cat Stevens, and Gordon Lightfoot, with modern echoes of Ray LaMontagne, Jonah’s performances invite audiences to be vulnerable, open up, and remind us that our most personal experiences can bring us together.
